Supermono

We are continuing to develop a range of transmission parts for the 4 stroke motorcross engines being converted for use in supermono racing.  Close ratio road race style 5 speed gear clusters have been produced for the CRF450 and YZF450 engines.  Higher ratio primary gears for the CRF engine are now available. 

A 6 speed gearbox for the CRF450 has successfully completed its first meeting, being placed 6th and 4th in the British Supermono Championship rounds at the Snetterton race track on 11th and 12th April.

Full race

Comprises input shaft and all loose gears.  Assembles using standard output shaft and all bushes, spacers, circlips and bearings from the Suzuki gearbox.

Clutch nut is a full thread type and retains the standard lock spring washer and is supplied with the gear set.

Ratio's are our own specification and we feel will give a significant benefit over the road bike ratio's in race use.

To improve gear changing, all gears use only three dogs with sufficient "backlash" to give fast gear changes without the need to compromise as in the standard four dog gears.  All dogs are undercut both in drive and overrun, unlike the road box which is only undercut on the drive faces and not at all on first gear.

Low first gear conversion

This is for those people who find the racing first gear too high for clutch starts, particularly in sidecar outfits.

The standard input shaft is used but is mated to a higher output gear.  All other gears and features described above are retained.
