Honda CB72/77 5 Speed Race Version Gearbox

This is our version of the original Honda Kit Gearbox, but it is not in any way interchangeable with Honda parts.

As most of the engines used today are 350cc, the opportunity was taken to increase the width of the gears from 8mm to 12mm by deleting the kick start mechanism.

The set comprises mainshaft with all gears, circlips, spacers, etc., sleeve gear with needle roller bearings, layshaft which is supported at each end by needle rollers and the loose gears to complete the set.   A new selector drum is included together with a revised selector mechanism which is similar to that used on the later K4 engines and is designed to give more precise selection of the gears.  This is attached to the existing gear change shaft by a locating pin and welding by the customer, (see picture below). This modification can be carried out by Nova for UK customers at an extra cost.

To complete the installation an additional selector fork is required.  It is also necessary to modify all three forks, full details of the simple modification required are supplied with each gearbox.  Modifications to UK customer selector forks can be carried out by Nova, if required.
