Supermono

April 2008

We are continuing to develop a range of transmission parts for the 4 stroke motorcross engines being converted for use in supermono racing.  Close ratio road race style 5 speed gear clusters have been produced for the CRF450 and YZF450 engines.  Higher ratio primary gears for the CRF engine are now available.

A 6 speed gearbox for the CRF450 has successfully completed its first meeting, being placed 6th and 4th in the British Supermono Championship rounds at the Snetterton race track on 11th and 12th April.

Motorcycle Transmission Specialists

Nova Racing specialises in the design of motorcycle transmission components and the subsequent manufacture of these components for racing or prototype purposes. Additionally, it undertakes design and development work on a contract basis in related engineering fields.

Work Force

The small dedicated team of 6 is headed by  two engineering directors who have between them more than 70 years experience in the design, development and the manufacturing of motorcycles and motorcycle related products. Graham Dyson established the current company in 1989 following a period of part time work providing gear box components for a number of racing motorcyclists. Prior to that, he was a director of Barton Motors, famous for production of the Phoenix race engine and the Silver Dream Racer project. In 1999 Martin Ford-Dunn joined the company having provided design services for a number of years. His previous employment at Ricardo Consulting Engineers, working for all the major motorcycle manufacturers, provides in-depth design expertise. This combined knowledge and the links to a large number of engineering service companies enable designs and products to be produced meeting exacting requirements.

Product Range:

The product range is designed, manufactured and marketed directly to the end user.  For details of particular items see the Product pages.
